Freshmen Mentoring Program

Freshmen Mentoring Program

Centreville High School is excited to launch a new program designed to provide each incoming freshmen with a peer mentor in the fall of 2022. The process for selecting rising 11th and 12th graders to serve in the role of mentors is underway and the resources below will provide additional information about the program and the application process.

Interest meetings were held on March 8 and 10 for students who registered to attend. Those who were unable to join can learn more about the program by taking a look at the slide deck (PDF version here)from the meetings and viewing this video clip outlining a similar program that has been in place at McLean High School for a number of years. We are excited to partner with the same trainers to launch our program here at CVHS.

The application form is live and can be accessed here:

This google form as well as a paper teacher recommendation form with 2 staff member signatures is required for all students who would like to be considered for a mentor position for the 2022-2023 school year. These paper forms are available in each sub-school and should be submitted to the main office when completed.

Additionally, the form asks students to indicate their interest in joining the Executive Board. The Executive Board will be comprised of 10-12 seniors who will serve as leaders among the mentors providing valuable input and guidance over the program.

Selected students will be notified of their mentor status prior to the end of the school year and must be available to attend training during the summer on August 3.
