Notably, CVHS is one of the few high schools in Virginia to offer a full symphony orchestra for course credit. Our Symphony and Jazz Band were invited to perform at the 2024 Virginia Music Educators Association state conference and at the Hylton Center for the Performing Arts. The Theatre Arts Program hosts several performances each year, including the recent musical Cinderella, while our visual arts classes are recognized with numerous Scholastic Arts Awards.

Our commitment to community service is evident through numerous initiatives, including student service clubs such as the Key Club, Wildcats Versus Cancer, and National Honor Society to name a few.  We are proud of our Wildcat Mentor and Wildcat Ambassador programs in which mentoring services are provided to all freshmen and students who are new to the school.  We also partner with our community to offer the Food for Neighbors food bank program supporting families in need. Events such as our annual blood drive, Unified Sports Special Olympics, and multilingual learner parent nights enhance community involvement. We also host popular events like Bandemonium and the Pyramid Chorus Concert, drawing hundreds of community members together.

CVHS promotes a school culture centered on core values of Respect, Ownership, Achievement, and Relationships. Our school equity team focuses on ensuring student belonging and connectedness while enhancing staff cultural competence. Weekly advisory lessons align with the CASEL Framework to implement evidence-based social-emotional learning strategies. Special events, such as P.S.
