Caroline Sieber was presented with the Lady Fairfax Award for the Springfield District. Supervisor Herrity honored a Centreville HS senior and joked of her being probably the youngest recipient of this award. Caroline and her sister Corinne founded the Glass Recycling Network during Covid, and what started as a small neighborhood service has grown into a 14 neighborhood-, 800+ combined volunteer hours-, 75k recycled glass containers with 30 volunteers - organization! This success, along with her efforts to keep valuable glass out of landfills while servicing Fairfax County neighborhoods was honored, but also honored were her efforts to educate our community and offering volunteer opportunities to her peers.

Supervisor Herrity said: "Caroline and her team support students and residents that want to recycle their glass by collecting and transporting the glass to the County's collection bins. Starting in Centreville HS they've grown the network to other County HSs and have recycled over 75,000 glass containers. Thank you for your service to the district and Fairfax County."

Congratulations, Caroline(Class of 2023) and Corinne (Class of 2022)! Way to show true Wildcat spirit!
