We are happy to provide the latest updates for our Class of 2021 end of year events including graduation.  Please read carefully to be sure you have the latest information.  Beginning May 28, the updated Governor’s Executive Order (79) and the updated VDOE graduation guidance greatly expand health and safety guidelines for indoor and outdoor graduations to include: 

  • Masks are not required at outdoor venues but are recommended for unvaccinated individuals
  • There is no requirement for social distancing

These updates have allowed for changes to graduation, which can be found below.

Senior Fees and Materials

  • Senior Dues are now available to pay in MySchool Bucks - $50
  • All other outstanding fees can also be found and paid in MySchoolBucks
  • If you are unsure how to navigate MySchoolBucks, check out this YouTube tutorial
  • Senior debts must be cleared to receive cap and gown on June 9th
  • Laptops, chargers, and books must be returned before receiving cap and gown

Graduate Car Parade

  • Thursday, June 10
  • Meet at Liberty Middle School at 6:15 to join the parade.  Parade starts at 6:30.
  • Parade route goes through Little Rocky Run and ends at CVHS.  All grads are welcome!

Graduation Ceremony- June 11th at 9:30am at Jiffy Lube Live rain or shine.

  • Graduation will be held on June 11 at 9:30 AM at Jiffy Lube Live, rain or shine.
  • If you haven’t filled out the graduation intent form, please do so ASAP using this Google Form to indicate if you will, or will not, attend graduation by May 28th. 
    • If you have already completed the intent form, and would like to make a change, please fill out this form by May 28th. 
  • Graduates must arrive at 8:00 AM to prepare.  Directions for arrival and parking will be provided and covered at rehearsal and can be found below.
  • Graduates park in Lot B.
  • Gates open for guests at 8:30 AM.
  • Guests are permitted to bring cell phones, water only (no food), and clutch purses (no larger than 4.5” x 6.5”). All guests will be required to pass through a metal detector and bags will be searched prior to entry.

Graduation Tickets

  • Each graduate will now receive 10 tickets.
    • Tickets will be printed and given to graduates at rehearsal.
    • Tickets are general admission and will have a unique barcode along with the date/time of our ceremony.
    • Seating under the pavilion in the 100, 200, and 300 sections will be available to guests as general admission on a first come first served basis.
    • Information about accessible seating and parking will be provided soon.
    • There will be some seating on the lawn for guests who prefer that location.

Graduation Event Information

  • Graduates park in Lot B.
  • Graduates are encouraged to wear flats or modest heels. There is some walking on gravel and stairs.
  • Remember that graduation is a formal event, so appropriate attire beneath your gown is expected.
  • Graduates will report to the parking area behind the stage to line up alphabetically.  Security will check students before they get in line.
  • Graduation will be live streamed here for all who cannot attend.
  • Photos of each graduate will be taken during the ceremony by Lifetouch and proofs will be online at events.lifetouch.com ten days after the ceremony.
  • Graduates may only carry:  money, car/house key, and photo ID
  • If you are not attending graduation, you can pick up your diploma at CVHS starting Tuesday, June 15th -17th from 9am-1pm.

Special Needs

  • Handicapped parking is located directly in front of the Main Gate. Guests in need can be dropped off at the Main Gate where golf carts will be available to chauffeur guests to their seats. Accessible seating will be located in section 203.  Graduate families needing special physical arrangements should contact Marissa Heberer @email to make any necessary arrangements.

Cap and Gown

  • Caps and gowns will be handed out at graduation practice
  • Seniors must have paid senior dues and returned all school materials to pick-up their cap and gown
  • Students may choose to wear any school appropriate clothes that follow the dress code under their gowns
  • Keep in mind that it will be hot and we will be outdoors for graduation
  • Please remember to wear comfortable shoes

Vertical Graduation Celebrations - Take a Walk Down Memory Lane

Class of 2021, it has certainly been an unforgettable year!  We are so proud of your hard work and resilience during these challenging times.  As this year comes to an end, you are invited back to where it began.  Graduation is a celebration of your full K-12 journey and many have helped along the way. Your former school(s) can’t wait to celebrate this huge accomplishment with you!

  • Please wear your cap, gown, and a mask on your visit.
  • Caps & gowns will be distributed at Graduation Rehearsal June 9th.
  • Optional – Students may also wear clothing under their gown that celebrates their post-secondary plans (college, trade school, or military t-shirts, etc.)
  • Date: Thursday, June 10th
  • Times: See Sign-Up Sheet -- Sign-up for the school(s) you previously attended 
  • All are welcome to start at Liberty Middle (12:30pm) (including those who may not have attended one of our local elementary schools)
  • Additional school specific details may be sent closer to June 10th. Please remember that all students who choose to participate will be representing Centreville High School. Those who violate FCPS dress and/or conduct codes may not be allowed to walk at Graduation the following day. We know you will be great role models for the younger students and that this will be a positive experience for all.
